POSITION SUMMARY

Provide instructional and behavioral support to students in tiered intervention programs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

A. Supports PBIS Tier 3 per level (K-4 or 5-8 or 9-12)

  1. Case manager for PBIS Tier 3 students (approximately 50 students)

  2. Sponsors & holds regular team meetings

  3. Facilitates team implementation of strategies

  4. Leads team members in progress-monitoring

  5. Documents & distributes team meeting minutes

B. Assessment and Screening of Tier 3 students

  1. Functional Behavior Assessment

  2. Behavior Intervention Plans

  3. Collect outcome data

C. Home-School Collaboration for Tier 3 students

  1. Home visits and telephone contacts

  2. Family assistance in finding and utilizing community resources

  3. Survey families regarding on-going needs and feedback

  4. Collaboration and partnerships with schools and community based organizations

D. Coordination of student transitions between agencies

  1. Truancy issues

  2. Department of Human Services

  3. Mental Health

  4. Referrals to community resources

  5. Advocacy for students within the community

E. The PBIS Tier 3 Technician will communicate with pupil services staff, classroom teachers and administration to ensure:

  1. Increase time participating in instruction

  2. Support of wrap around services

  3. Decrease in office discipline referrals
