The AI Enablement Consultant plays a key role in the development and delivery of AI enablement efforts that drive innovation and measurable gains in productivity, efficiency, and outcomes across academic, administrative, and operational areas by supporting the adoption of AI by university stakeholders. The AI Enablement Consultant will work closely with cross-functional teams to support Computing Services' implementation of AI strategies and roadmaps that align with overall goals and objectives for the university's AI initiatives.

 

Key Responsibilities

Participate as a key member of the Computing Services AI Enablement Team, which is responsible for defining and communicating the AI service vision, strategy, and roadmap to stakeholders.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams across the division and university to implement high-quality AI enablement activities that meet stakeholder needs and identify opportunities for AI-enabled projects, use-cases, and initiatives.

Consult with campus partners to translate AI capabilities and business needs into practical workflows; facilitate use-case discovery, readiness discussions, applied problem framing, and requirements gathering; Document business processes and workflows (current-state and future-state), including constraints, decision points, adoption requirements, and AI opportunities.

 

Responsibilities (continued)

Serve as a subject matter expert on AI tools available to staff, faculty, and students; develop and deliver training, guidance, and educational materials on tool usage and best practices; partner with product and vendor management teams to provide input on capabilities and priorities and to communicate AI tool updates and guidance to campus stakeholders.

Serve as an escalated support resource for the AI service catalog, addressing advanced inquiries, troubleshooting complex issues, and ensuring timely resolution in collaboration with technical and service teams.

Create and maintain AI product and service documentation including, but not limited to web content, risk and issue logs, program and project materials, and enablement toolkits.

 

Additional Responsibilities

Lead and develop education and outreach initiatives; participate in the facilitation of upskilling and training initiatives, including but not limited to the Generative AI Center of Excellence workshop, focused / targeted training sessions, executive enablement, and Community of Practice events.

Coordinate and support change enablement activities that help sustain adoption (stakeholder engagement, communications support, reinforcement planning, feedback loops).

Conduct market research and analysis to identify market trends and stakeholder needs.

Define and analyze metrics to measure AI services adoption and success.

 

Effort Distribution

15% - At the direction of the AI initiative leadership, contribute to the development and communication of the AI service vision, strategy, and roadmap, including standards, playbooks, and measurement approaches.

55% - Advise and partner with campus units to identify, prioritize, and implement AI use-cases that drive innovation and measurable gains in productivity and efficiency; facilitate discovery and readiness sessions; document workflows and requirements; and support adoption through implementation planning and stakeholder coordination.

25% - Design and deliver applied upskilling experiences (workshops, training sessions, office hours, and guidance) that build capability and confidence with AI tools and practices, and contribute to communities of practice and centers of excellence.

5% - Work with external organizations or projects that enhance the reputation of the university or support individual professional development.

Qualifications

Bachelor Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered.

Type of Required Experience: Progressively responsible experience supporting product or service delivery in a complex, educational or technical environment.

Experience working on AI-related services including supporting the rollout, adoption, or integration of AI tools or platforms.

Experience facilitating training and enablement and documenting workflows and requirements is preferred.

Foundational understanding of IT service management methodologies such as ITIL.

Experience in business requirements gathering and translating business challenges / requirements into innovation opportunities.

 

Licenses/Certifications

ITIL Foundations

Cloud / AI (AWS ML Specialty, Google Cloud ML, or Responsible AI Institute)

Process Improvement (e.g. Lean / Six Sigma)
