In this role, you will be at the forefront of transforming legal practice through artificial intelligence, developing and implementing AI solutions that enhance our attorneys' capabilities, improve client service, and streamline legal operations. This role requires technical expertise, strong communication and project management skills to increase efficiency. Applicants must be willing to relocate or travel to this location to be considered.Key ResponsibilitiesAI Solution Automation & ImplementationDesign and implement AI-powered solutions using commercially available and enterprise-approved modelsIntegrate large language models (LLMs) into firm workflows while ensuring accuracy and reliabilityIntegrate automation solutions with existing software and databasesDesign, develop, test and deploy automations, and enhance existing automationsEvaluate backend systems and potential issues as they arise pertaining to AI implementationDevelop RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) systems using firm knowledge bases and legal databasesLegal Technology IntegrationCollaborate with attorneys and practice groups to identify AI opportunities and pain pointsIntegrate AI solutions with existing legal tech stackConfigure integrations using low-code/no-code platformsWork closely with IT and vendors on API-based integrationsCreate custom tools for contract analysis, due diligence, legal research, and compliance monitoringData & SecurityEnsure all AI implementations comply with attorney-client privilege, confidentiality requirements, and data protection regulations (GDPR, CCPA, etc.)Implement robust data governance and security protocols for sensitive legal informationMonitor and audit AI systems for bias, accuracy, and ethical complianceMaintain data privacy standards in all AI training and deployment activitiesInnovation & StrategyStay current with AI advancements and evaluate their applicability to legal practiceConduct pilots and proofs-of-concept for emerging AI technologiesProvide technical guidance on AI vendor solutions and procurement decisionsTrain attorneys and staff on AI tools and best practicesQualificationsTechnical SkillsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, AI/ML, Data Science, or related field3+ years of experience in AI workflow automation and process improvementExperience in process automation, scripting, and workflow design, and automation tools. Relevant technologies may include Microsoft Copilot studio, Power Automate, SharePoint, enterprise LLM platforms, document management systems, and legal research tools.Experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, and fine-tuning (OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, etc.)Strong understanding of data security, encryption, and access controlLegal Technology Experience (highly preferred)Understanding of legal workflows and terminologyExperience working with legal documents and understanding their structureFamiliarity with legal research platforms (Westlaw, LexisNexis) is a plusKnowledge of e-discovery processes and document review systems is a plusSoft SkillsExcellent communication skills with ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholdersStrong problem-solving mindset with attention to legal/ethical considerationsAbility to work collaboratively with attorneys, paralegals, administrative teams and IT teamProject management skills and ability to handle multiple initiativesPreferred QualificationsExperience in legal tech, professional services, or regulated industriesKnowledge of legal ethics rules and professional responsibility standardsChambliss is committed to being one of the best law firms to work for in our region.
