Position Title: AgriBusiness Seasonal Assistant/Intern

Department: State Fair

Reports To: AgriBusiness Senior Staff

Supervises: N/A

Classification: Seasonal, Hourly

Pay Range: $12 - $14/hr (dependent upon experience)

This position is a seasonal role with an anticipated start date, end date, and number of hours per week/month as outlined below. Employment is tied to seasonal business demands and is not guaranteed beyond the seasonal period. While there may be opportunities for other or intermittent hours outside of the stated period, any such hours are contingent upon business needs, workload, and operational requirements and do not change the seasonal nature of the position. This position does not carry a guarantee of minimum hours or continued employment beyond the seasonal term. This will be a temporary, part-time, and hourly position for employment related to the 2026 Oklahoma State Fair. No other benefits, except those required by law, apply. Job Responsibilities

• Assist with horse shows, livestock shows, and agricultural exhibit halls, including the creating, preparing, and executing of agriculture-related competitions and events, for the annual Oklahoma State Fair. • Serve as staff liaison, answering questions from potential participants, staff, officials, and the public. • Assist with correspondence and communication, updating database and data entry for show entries, as well as processing and inputting results during the Fair. • Assist with administrative duties such as labeling packets, filing, and creating documents, sorting supplies, and distributing credentials and materials. • Serve as staff assistant during the Fair, processing competition entry forms, reports, and other necessary forms as required for each event and each day of the Fair. • Assist in the preparation of competition sites, arrangement, and distribution of awards, processing results, and tabulation. • Responsibilities may require physical and manual labor.

Additional Job Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required. • Knowledge of Microsoft software, especially Word, and Excel. • A basic knowledge of the livestock industry and competition requirements/protocol is preferred. • Must be comfortable and knowledgeable with regard to working around animals. • Interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills required. • Previous customer service or similar experience preferred.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

• Extended hours, nights, and weekends may be required during peak periods. • Frequent or continual movement from place to place with normal physical mobility, covering long distances with ease, managing assigned tasks throughout various indoor and outdoor locations within and around the property and in potentially inclement/severe weather conditions. • Regularly lift, carry, and put away items weighing up to 25 lbs. and occasionally lift and carry heavier items and/or assist others in lifting heavier objects, as job demands. • Walk and/or stand for extended periods in addition to other prolonged physical exertions including seeing, hearing, reaching, grasping, lifting, pushing, pulling, squatting, crouching, stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in awkward positions and tight areas may be required.

Additional Information - Work Schedule

Hours may fluctuate slightly in the early months of employment and will gradually increase as the position progresses toward peak season and then decrease during the period following peak season. However, the assistant must be able to commit to working more than 40 hours/week as early as the end of August to as late as the first week of October with the month of September non-negotiable including nights and weekends during the Fair.

February - October 2026 (DATES & HOURS MAY FLUCTUATE AS WORKLOAD DICTATES AND MUTUALLY AGREEABLE)

• February: Flexible weekdays, 16-24 hours/week • March: Flexible weekdays, 16-24 hours/week • April: Flexible weekdays, 16-24 hours/week • May: Flexible weekdays, 16-24 hours/week • June: Flexible weekdays, 16-24 hours/week • July: Weekdays, 32-40 hours/week • August: Weekdays, 40 hours/week (possibly some additional hours as needed that could be longer days or stretched to a weekend day, with advance notice) • September: 40-60 hours/week, evenings and weekends included • October: Weekdays, early October 40 hours/week gradually reducing as the month progresses
