Agile Coach Senior Manager
Wells Fargo is seeking an Agile Coach Senior Manager. As an Agile Coach Senior Manager, you serve a critical role in our organization by actively advocating for, and coaching growth in, capabilities and careers as we continue to evolve and advance our transformation. You will partner with business and technology peers to foster adoption of new ways of leading, while leading and developing a group of Scrum Masters, Kanban Leads, and/or Coaches in guiding enterprise aligned agility practices and delivering value in a large-scale agile transformation. Alongthe way, you will also ensure their own continuous growth and mastery journeys. A 'roll-up your sleeves' position, the successful candidate will embody strong leadership, fostering change and leveraging an inspect and adapt mindset to help us continually improve and evolve our transformation implementation mode, while assisting others in removing impediments that may obstruct the Scrum Master, Kanban Lead and/or Coaches goals.
The successful candidate will bring proven experience in talent and change management, as well as practical hands-on Agile experience coaching at multiple staff levels, and not be afraid to raise issues and influence change. You will need to be comfortable with situations of ambiguity, conflict, and uncertainty, and effectively coach others in the same to promote sustainable adoption behaviors. Your contributions in this role will be an important element of our agile practice, helping realize our vision to enable and continuously improve our Scrum Master and Kanban Lead community.
In this role, you will:
- Coach and support the team to provide coaching, help manage impediments, guide changes to reduce dependencies, monitor and improve team health and happiness, guide team self-organization & autonomy around the work, promote a culture of continuous learning & improvement, and focus on outcomes versus outputs
- Guide Scrum Masters, Kanban Leads and/or Agile Coaches on enterprise aligned Agile practices in a product operating model to maximize the delivery of business value; ensure alignment with Wells Fargo Agile playbook, enterprise coaching practices, and related views on scaling Agile.
- Be a leader devoted to helping the team remove obstacles by working with Product Managers/Owners and people managers, as needed
- Ask open and thoughtful questions, which help people rethink and change the way they structure work. Roll-up sleeves as needed to enhance understanding of Agile Practices (including scale, TDD/BDD, Secure Dev Ops, team dynamics, Lean Flow, Kanban, Scrum) improving their interactions and ensuring they have the right process and tools for their success with a'see one, do one, teach one' philosophy.
- Foster culture of organizational learning, change management, and process adoption of Agile via metrics, benefits realization, outcomes, retrospective findings, and interactive communications, within and beyond your team
- Partner with Engineering and Product leadership to foster a strong relationship between Engineering Managers, Product Managers, Product Owners, and Scrum Masters
- Partner with other enterprise coaching organizations to ensure a continuous feedback loop with coaching, product development, metrics, and tooling.
- Work with others to actively review organizational constructs for efficiency possibilities including but not limited to team size, team make up, gearing ratios, and autonomy.
- Actively participate as a thought leader in the larger Agile community and promote the same within their team
- Interact frequently with senior management, demonstrating influence and negotiation skills as well as the ability to ensure appropriate use of metrics
- Manage allocation of people and financial resources to ensure commitments are met and align with strategic objectives in
- Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy
Required Qualifications, US:
- 6+ years of Business Execution, Implementation, or Strategic Planning experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 3+ years of Management experience
- 6+ years of Agile experience (Scrum, Dev Ops, TVD, TDD, Kanban, Scale, Lean Flow)
Desired Qualifications:
- Prior experience as a developer or a bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
- Multi-industry experience coaching through organization change with hands-on experience with Scrum, Kanban and key product roles
- Demonstrated ability to influence and motivate teams, manage conflicts and create a collaborative supportive environment
- Excellent communication skills with an executive presence and focus
- Adaptable, complex problem-solving disposition with a clear understanding of root cause and practical, effective solutions
