A Day in the Life of an Agricultural Sales Manager

As an Agricultural Sales Manager, your focus is equal parts people leadership, sales strategy, and execution.

One day may include coaching agricultural customer account managers in the field through ride-alongs, reviewing pipeline activity, and helping close key opportunities. Another may involve collaborating with store managers on hiring, talent development, or performance planning. You'll also analyze trends, monitor inventory strategy, review KPIs, and partner with John Deere representatives on programs and promotions.

This is a high-impact role for someone who enjoys leading teams, improving processes, and growing market share.

Every day is different, but the goal is always the same: grow the business, develop the team, and take care of the customer.

What You'll Do

As an Agricultural Sales Manager, you will:
  • lead, coach, and develop a team of agricultural customer account managers
  • conduct regular field ride-alongs, coaching sessions, and performance follow-up
  • build accountability, performance standards, and a winning sales culture
  • develop and execute agricultural sales strategies aligned with company goals
  • implement and reinforce a consistent sales process across multiple locations
  • analyze KPIs, forecasts, margins, pipeline activity, and market opportunities
  • partner with store leadership on hiring, onboarding, succession planning, and performance management
  • collaborate with John Deere representatives on programs, forecasts, and promotions
  • work closely with parts and service teams to enhance customer satisfaction
What You Bring

What You Need to be a LandPro Agricultural Sales Manager:
  • sales management experience, including leading a sales team and driving performance
  • experience managing sales processes, pipeline discipline, and accountability systems
  • experience in the agricultural industry
  • strong understanding of consultative selling and customer relationship management
  • ability to analyze reports, financial metrics, and operational performance
  • ability to travel regularly throughout LandPro's territory (NY, PA, OH)
It's a Plus if You Have:
  • equipment dealership or agricultural equipment sales leadership experience
  • experience with John Deere or competitive ag product lines
  • bachelor's or Associate degree in business, marketing, agriculture, or related field
  • multi-location leadership experience
  • proven track record of growing market share and improving profitability
