Job Goal: To teach assigned students the academic, social, and manipulative skills and abilities as directed by established curriculum and perform other duties relating to student safety, control, welfare, and growth.
Reports To: Principal and CTAE Director
DUTIES:
The position of Agriculture Teacher 6-12 with shall be assigned specific duties based upon site needs, credential, experience and professional expertise in site relevant areas as follows:
? Instructs students for the purpose of improving their success in academic, interpersonal and daily living skills through a defined course of study
? Prepares teaching materials and reports for the purpose of implementing lesson plans and providing documentation of teacher and student progress
? Assists other teachers for the purpose of implementing curriculum
? Collaborates with school personnel, parents and various community agencies for the purpose of improving the quality of student outcomes, developing solutions for the purpose of providing an effective school program and addressing the needs of individual students
? Directs volunteers and/or student aides for the purpose of providing an effective school program and addressing the needs of the individual students
? Provides a positive learning environment and adhering to Education Code, District and or school policies
? Assesses students for the purpose of providing feedback to students, parents and administration regarding students' progress, expectations, goals, etc.
? Advises parents and/or legal guardians of student progress for the purpose of supporting teacher's expectations, developing methods for improvement and/or reinforcing classroom goals in the home environment
? Monitors Student Activities (e.g. classroom, lunch, grounds, etc.) for the purpose of providing a safe and optimal learning environment
? Reports incidents (e.g. fights, suspected child abuse, suspected substance abuse, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining personal safety of students
? Attends county and state meetings as required
? Introduces students to hands on experiences and guidance to prepare them to further their education and prepare them for advanced agricultural jobs
? Visits students' Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) projects
? Assists students in keeping SAE records
Assists students in exhibiting crops and agricultural mechanics projects at fairs and shows
