Position Overview
Kid City USA is seeking a dynamic and engaging
After-School Teacher / Program Specialist to lead our after-school program for school-age children. This role is responsible for creating a structured, fun, and educational environment that supports academic success, creativity, and physical well-being.
The ideal candidate is energetic, organized, and passionate about working with children, with the ability to design and implement a well-rounded daily program.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a daily and weekly schedule for the after-school program
- Supervise and engage children in a safe, nurturing, and structured environment
- Provide homework assistance and academic support to students
- Plan and lead STEM-based activities, including:
- Hands-on science experiments
- Basic computer skills and digital learning
- Robotics and engineering projects
- Organize and facilitate outdoor and physical activities to promote health and teamwork
- Encourage positive behavior, social development, and peer interaction
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment
- Communicate effectively with parents and staff regarding student progress and behavior
- Ensure compliance with all Kid City USA policies and state licensing requirements
- Pick up children using school van.
Qualifications
- Experience working with school-age children (preferred)
- Strong organizational and classroom management skills
- Ability to create engaging lesson plans and activities
- Basic knowledge or interest in STEM education (science, technology, engineering, math)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Must pass all required background checks
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in education, child development, or a related field
- Experience with robotics, coding, or STEM programs
- Previous after-school or camp program experience
