Description
We are seeking a dedicated Affordable Housing Leasing Agent to assist residents in securing rental housing. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, knowledge of housing laws, and attention to detail to ensure compliance with affordable housing programs such as HUD, LIHTC, and other local regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Tenant Screening & Qualification:
Review applications, verify eligibility based on income limits, family size, and program rules (e.g., Tax Credit, HUD).
Show available units, explain program restrictions, prepare leases, conduct move-ins/outs, and perform background checks.
Ensure adherence to LIHTC, Section 8, HPD, and DHCR regulations. Manage certifications/recertifications and maintain audit-ready files for MORM(Management Occupancy Review) /REAC inspections.
Provide excellent customer service to current and prospective residents, addressing inquiries and resolving concerns promptly.
Skills & Requirements
Interpersonal Skills: Ability to build rapport with diverse populations.
Understanding of fair housing laws and affordable housing program requirements & Certificates
Organization: Strong attention to detail for paperwork and compliance reporting.
Education: College Degree ; certifications in affordable housing preferred.
Experience: 3-5 Years Prior leasing experience or property management experience is a plus
