Our client is in the Los Angeles CA area and is a division of a world leading design and manufacturer of aerospace products and is looking for several Manufacturing & Planning Engineers responsible for providing Manufacturing support to their department.

Manufacturing & Planning Engineers - CA
Job Summary:
The Manufacturing Engineer/Planner plans the sequence of fabrication, assembly, installation, and other manufacturing operations relating to specific portion of the product for guidance of production workers. The Manufacturing Engineer prepares master plans for materials and product processing and coordinates with estimation to ensure that items are being processed according to estimated time and place. The position maintains progress reports, schedules, and other related records as required. The Manufacturing Engineer is a liason with program management, manufacturing and/or customer as required for product realization and provides backup to document control.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinates with programming to create bill of material for new jobs to be manufactured in house
- Validates material size is within the engineering requirements, based on the size envelope provided by programming for the part to be manufactured
- Ensures correct material is put in the MRP system so QE can approve and release to purchasing
- Coordinates with programming to create Master Routing for new jobs to be manufactured in house
- Validates the steps programming would like to use is within the customer manufacturing requirements
- Reviews all materials for special factors, i.e., certain materials require special heat treat and manufacturing parameters
- Coordinates with customers and vendors to answer questions on material, processing and manufacturing process to facilitate closing of ECNs
- Validates approved processors and vendors are used as required by customer
- Creates PO verbiage for new outside manufacturing including Quality note and Engineering requirements that may be hard to interpreted or missed
- Leads FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) on new parts/process teams as required
- Leads other Manufacturing Engineers in problem solving with new customers and new product requirements
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Superior CAD/CAM skills
- Adept problem solving skills
- Strong organizational, planning and time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must be mechanically inclined, with knowledge of Aerospace work
- Must be highly detail oriented
- Must be able to work effectively with little or no supervision
- Must have the ability to read blueprints
- Knowledge of safety measures pertinent to each job assignment (Training provided)
- Must be capable of working in a fast paced environment and meet customer deadlines
Education/Experience:
Manufacturing Engineer Requirement:
Bachelor's degree in engineering, or equivalent education and experience
- Two (2) years' experience in manufacturing engineering
- Thorough understanding of the manufacturing process within the Aerospace industry
- Strong CAD navigation skills with CAD certification preferred
- Thorough understanding of how MRP/ERP systems works
- Advanced computer program skills with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Planning Engineer Requirement:
Associate degree or Certified Training with emphasis in planning desired or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 3-5 years Planning & Scheduling experience
- Thorough understanding of the manufacturing process within the Aerospace industry
- Experience in aerospace manufacturing environment
- Advanced computer program skills with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
