  • Aerospace Project Engineer

Salary Range: $60,000 - $75,000 annually (commensurate with experience)

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Aerospace Project Engineer to support aerospace engine programs through project coordination, scheduling, engineering change management, hardware logistics, and cross-functional team collaboration. The ideal candidate will work closely with Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), engineering disciplines, vendors, and program stakeholders to ensure successful execution of development, testing, and production activities while maintaining schedule, quality, and compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and manage complex industrial-level project schedules.
  • Prepare and present program schedules and status updates during aerospace engineering gate reviews.
  • Adjust project schedules and resource plans to accommodate program changes and evolving priorities.
  • Participate in regular meetings with IPT and CIPT leaders to communicate program status, risks, and action items.
  • Drive project deliverables to completion and support on-time program execution.
  • Coordinate the procurement and ordering of hardware required for aerospace engine builds and testing activities.
  • Facilitate domestic and international shipment of hardware and test assets.
  • Own export shipment planning and execution, ensuring compliance with applicable export regulations and documentation requirements.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to monitor hardware manufacturing progress and delivery schedules.
  • Process and manage Class I and Class II Engineering Changes in accordance with Pratt & Whitney Engineering Change procedures.
  • Execute Teamcenter workflows to support engineering change implementation and approvals.
  • Track, coordinate, and drive closure of action items with IPT leads, designers, and engineering teams.

Education Requirements

  • Associate's Degree (AS) or Bachelor's Degree (BS) in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Power Systems, or another STEM-related field.

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering is preferred.

  • Relevant aerospace, manufacturing, mechanical, or technical project experience may be considered in lieu of specific degree requirements.

  • Compliance Knowledge

  • Familiarity with export compliance requirements, including EAR and ITAR regulations, is preferred.

  • Proven organizational and multitasking capabilities.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced engineering environment.

  • Preferred Qualifications & Skills

Training will be provided for proprietary software, systems, and internal processes.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Strong computer skills, including document management, file navigation, hyperlink creation, and data organization.
  • Experience using Teamcenter, including workflow creation, task management, and release processes.
  • Familiarity with CAD software such as Siemens NX (UG NX) and SolidWorks.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and engineering prints.
  • Experience with Pratt & Whitney ESW applications and engineering tools is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Pratt & Whitney Engineering Change (EC) processes is a plus.
  • Understanding of aerospace hardware development and jet engine systems.
  • Organize, facilitate, and participate in cross-functional meetings involving Design, Structures, Manufacturing, Project Engineering, and Program Management teams.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on schedule adherence, process efficiency, and program execution.
