Aerospace Operations Manager
$145,000 â $185,000 DOE + Bonus
Location: Brea, CA
KPG is partnering with an aerospace manufacturing company in the Brea area seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee manufacturing operations and drive operational efficiency across production, machining, assembly, engineering support, and continuous improvement initiatives.
This position is ideal for a hands-on manufacturing leader with experience within aerospace, precision machining, metal fabrication, or industrial manufacturing environments. The Operations Manager will support day-to-day manufacturing performance while helping improve throughput, workflow optimization, production scalability, and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead daily manufacturing operations across production, machining, assembly, and related manufacturing teams
• Drive operational efficiency, throughput, labor utilization, and on-time delivery performance
• Partner with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Production teams to improve manufacturing performance and resolve operational challenges
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on process optimization, workflow efficiency, waste reduction, and productivity improvements
• Analyze production KPIs and operational metrics to support manufacturing goals and operational performance
• Oversee production scheduling, staffing coordination, capacity planning, and resource allocation
• Support manufacturing engineering and process improvement initiatives
• Implement Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, and process standardization initiatives
• Ensure compliance with quality standards, safety requirements, and manufacturing procedures
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective action activities related to operational and production issues
• Develop supervisors and manufacturing personnel while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
• Collaborate with leadership on operational strategy, efficiency improvements, and long-term growth initiatives
Qualifications
• Bachelorâs degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or related field preferred
• 8+ years of manufacturing leadership experience within aerospace, precision manufacturing, machining, fabrication, or industrial manufacturing environments
• Strong background in manufacturing process improvement and operational optimization
• Experience leading machining, fabrication, assembly, or precision manufacturing operations
• Hands-on experience with Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, and continuous improvement methodologies
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems and production planning
• Knowledge of AS9100 or aerospace manufacturing environments preferred
• Strong leadership, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to operate effectively within fast-paced, high-mix manufacturing environments
