QUALIFICATIONS
  • Proven experience (typically 8+ years) in aerospace manufacturing operations, with at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role.
  • In-depth knowledge of aerospace manufacturing processes, production planning, and quality management systems.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and proficiency in data analysis tools.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Certification in Project Management (e.g., PMP) or Lean Six Sigma is desirable.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Responsibilities:

Operations Management:
Oversee all aspects of manufacturing operations including production scheduling, resource allocation, and workflow management.
Ensure adherence to production plans, timelines, and quality standards.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track operational efficiency and identify areas for improvement.
Team Leadership and Development:
Lead and supervise a team of production supervisors, technicians, and support staff.
Provide guidance, training, and performance feedback to enhance team capabilities and productivity.
Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment focused on achieving operational goals.


Quality Assurance and Compliance:

Implement and maintain quality control procedures to meet aerospace industry standards (e.g., AS9100).
Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure product quality and compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., FAA, EASA).
Lead initiatives for continuous improvement in quality processes and operational efficiencies.


Health, Safety, and Environmental Management:
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations in all manufacturing activities.
Promote and enforce a culture of safety awareness and best practices among the team.
Implement measures to mitigate workplace hazards and improve overall safety performance.


Supply Chain and Inventory Management:
Collaborate with supply chain management to optimize materials sourcing, procurement, and inventory control.
Monitor inventory levels and ensure availability of materials to support production schedules.
Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and quality of components.


Continuous Improvement and Operational Excellence:
Drive initiatives for process optimization, cost reduction, and waste elimination using lean manufacturing principles and best practices.
Champion and support cross-functional teams in implementing improvement projects and achieving operational excellence goals.
Utilize data analysis and performance metrics to identify opportunities for efficiency gains and operational enhancements.


Budget Management and Cost Control:
Develop and manage budgets for manufacturing operations, including labor, materials, and overhead costs.
Monitor expenditures and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or safety standards.
