At Whelan Machine, a mission-critical supplier to the Department of Defense, you’ll help ensure every component we deliver meets exacting standards—because precision is the point.
You’ll move from the CMM station to a Faro arm check, validating complex geometries—height, length, ID/OD, true position, runout, concentricity, flatness, thread standards, and roundness. You’ll complete 100% dimensional and visual First Article Inspections to AS9100 and technical work instructions, document traceability to the latest drawing revision, and enter results in our quality systems to track product quality and rework. Along the way, you’ll collaborate with machinists and engineers to isolate root causes and recommend machining process adjustments. When tooling questions arise, you’ll verify calibration, manage external calibrations, and coordinate source inspections and quality audits with customers, suppliers, and government agencies. All while modeling impeccable safety.
