In this role, you'll work with tight tolerances, complex mechanical systems, and industry-leading aerospace hardware. This is a hands-on mechanical role suited for those with aerospace, aviation, turbomachinery, diesel, or automotive experience, particularly those familiar with blueprints, quality inspection, and working with precision tools.Location: Huntsville, ALContract Length: 6–12+ months (extension possible through 2025)Clearance: Must be a U.S. Citizen or a Green Card holderAvailable Shifts & Pay RatesA Shift: Monday – Thursday, 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM $46.20/hour W2B Shift: Monday – Thursday, 3:00 PM – 1:30 AM $50.82/hour W2C Shift: Friday – Sunday, 5:00 AM – 5:30 PM $51.28/hour W2D Shift: Friday – Sunday, 5:00 PM – 5:30 AM $53.13/hour W2Note: Overtime is available and encouraged. Training begins on A Shift for one week before transitioning to your assigned shift.Key ResponsibilitiesAssemble rocket engine systems: combustion devices, turbomachinery, valves, avionicsDisassemble hardware for diagnostics and repairsConduct hydraulic testing, leak testing (helium/nitrogen), and hydro proof structural testingPerform detailed inspection to tolerances of 0.0001"Operate hoists, torque tools, calipers, micrometers, and other precision toolsFollow and create work instructions; maintain cleanliness standards for LOX/GUX compatibilityCollaborate with engineers and support custom tooling design and documentationComply with safety protocols and AS9100 quality standardsParticipate in troubleshooting, continuous improvement, and feedback loops between design and manufacturingQualifications4–6 years of direct hands-on mechanical assembly experience (e.g., aviation, automotive, oil & gas, diesel, turbomachinery)Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specsExperience using micrometers, slide calipers, and torque toolsFamiliarity with CAD drawings (Windchill/CREO a plus)Quality-focused; comfortable in regimented, safety-critical environmentsStrong attention to detail and ability to follow complex written instructionsComfortable working around high-pressure systems, liquid/gaseous oxygen, and in a cleanroom-like settingTechnical degree or A&P certification preferred
