Position Information

Job Title Advancement Officer Job Description

The Advancement Officer plays a key role in supporting Cleveland Community College's mission by fostering meaningful relationships with alumni, donors, and community stakeholders. This position is responsible for developing and managing alumni engagement initiatives, overseeing the Foundation's membership-based donor programs, and coordinating annual giving efforts to increase philanthropic support for the college.

Essential Duties Summary

Alumni Engagement

  1. Manage Alumni Relations to strengthen lifelong connections with graduates.

  2. Plan and execute alumni events, networking opportunities, and communications (newsletters, social media, etc.).

  3. Maintain and update alumni database records to ensure accurate tracking and engagement.

  4. Promote alumni involvement in campus activities.

Membership-Based Donor Programs

  1. Manage and grow Foundation membership-based donor programs (e.g., Yeti Club), including recruitment, retention, and stewardship of members.

  2. Manage game day and event-related activities for the Yeti Club, including snacks and/or meals, promotions, volunteer coordination, and member engagement at home events.

  3. Collaborate with the College's marketing and communications department to create content for newsletters, social media, and the CCC Foundation website.

  4. Develop membership benefits, recognition programs, and exclusive engagement opportunities.

  5. Track participation, giving levels, and member engagement metrics.

  6. Coordinate targeted communications and campaigns to increase membership and donor loyalty.

  7. Ensure timely acknowledgment and appreciation of all Yeti Club contributions.

Additional Duties

  1. Assist with donor stewardship activities, including recognition events and impact reporting.

  2. Train and become proficient with Blackbaud's Raiser's Edge and Awards Management Systems.

  3. Work collaboratively with foundation staff, faculty, and administration to support fundraising priorities.

  4. Ensure compliance with institutional policies and ethical fundraising standards.

  5. All other duties as assigned.

Salary Range Based on experience. Salary range starting at $41,432 up to $62,149 Required Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (marketing, public relations, communication, business administration, or related field) from a regionally accredited institution; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office products.

Preferred Qualifications Physical Demands

ADA requirements for this position include critical thinking skills with the ability to process information, analyze data, make assessments, and exercise good judgment to make decisions; possess ease of mobility within the work environment and other areas of campus; and effective use of all forms of communication (oral, visual, auditory), including use of computers. Be able to lift weights up to 10 pounds on a regular basis.
