Role snapshot

Step into an advanced Quality Technician position where you’ll handle high-impact work across PPAP submissions, ISO-related training, new product launch planning, customer certifications, advanced fixture/tool verification, complex CMM inspections, and hands-on problem solving with customer interaction. You will lead root-cause activities and drive advanced data collection to keep programs on schedule and customers confident.

What your day looks like

  • Conduct needed inspections using micrometers, calipers, go/no-go gauges, dial indicators, height gages, and other metrology tools; utilize a surface plate to verify height, roundness, hole locations, and additional dimensions per component prints or sketches.
  • Perform advanced assembly and final layout inspections to fulfill customer requirements.
  • Compile all required part data for PPAP submissions and collaborate with customer quality teams to obtain approvals on time with accurate documentation.
  • Investigate quality issues; recommend and help implement resolutions for internal teams and customers, taking an active role in developing the resolution strategy.
  • Operate the CMM to inspect complex parts, assemblies, and fixtures.
  • Assist with calibration of Company and Employee tooling per Tool Calibration procedures, documenting findings precisely.
  • Own product-line quality performance, including meeting customer-specific requirements such as BIQ, and lead other specialized quality projects.
  • Train others to build universals for advanced assembly inspection in welding, brazing, and related areas using height gauges, protractors, and other inspection instruments; follow prescribed methods and develop techniques for more complex fixtures.
  • Apply GD&T and basic trigonometry to calculate angles and dimensions from part/print data; convert between fractional, decimal, inch, and metric units as needed.

What you bring

  • 5+ years of hands-on measurement experience with mics, calipers, dial indicators, height gages, and similar hand tools.
  • 5+ years reading and interpreting basic to medium complexity drawings/sketches, weld symbols, and GD&T; able to determine and calculate measurements and tolerances using proper techniques.
  • 5+ years using shop math: inch/metric conversions, fraction-to-decimal conversions, tolerance limit calculations, with exposure to basic trigonometry.
  • Must pass CTP’s Setup Test.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, plus additional QC training (school or OJT).
  • Experience with tube or sheet metal fabrication and inspection preferred.
