Hourly Pay Range:

$60.10 - $80.77 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

  • Position: Advance Practice Provider- Outpatient

  • Location: Palatine, IL

  • FTE: 0.5 FTE - 20 hours a week

  • Hours: 20 hours a week Monday thru Friday

Provide appropriate care to the age of patients served.  This includes knowledge of the physical and psychological needs of patients served and the ability to respond appropriately to those needs.

What you will do:

  • The Advanced Practice works within a collaborative practice agreement to provide advanced nursing care for patients in the acute care setting.  In collaboration with the physician and other health care team members.

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, including diagnostic assessments and mental status examinations.

  • Diagnose and treat adults and young adolescents with a variety of psychiatric disorders utilizing evidence-based practices.

  • Develop individualized treatment plans that may include psychopharmacologic management, psychotherapy, behavioral interventions, and coordination of community resources.

  • Prescribe, monitor, and adjust psychiatric medications while evaluating treatment response and medication safety.

  • Provide medication management and follow-up care for established patients.

  • Assess patients for safety concerns, including suicide risk, homicide risk, and psychiatric emergencies, and initiate appropriate interventions when necessary.

  • Collaborate with primary care physicians, psychologists, therapists, social workers, advanced practice providers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.

  • Maintain timely, accurate, and complete medical documentation in the electronic medical record.

  • Participate in multidisciplinary case conferences and quality improvement initiatives.

What you will need:

  • Requires a master’s degree in nursing (MSN of MS) or master's as a Physician Assistant or pending. 

  • Previous work experience in Behavior Health/Psychiatry

  • BC/BE Psychiatry

  • State of Illinois Professional License

  • Current CPR Certification issued by either the American Heart Association or Red Cross required

  • Current or previous experience caring and managing patients in a Behavior Health setting required
