We are seeking a motivated and adaptable Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join a multidisciplinary outpatient pain management practice in Galveston, Texas.

This is a clinic-based position focused on the longitudinal care of patients with acute and chronic pain conditions. The APP will work under physician supervision and will undergo a structured onboarding and training period before transitioning to a mix of collaborative (with physicians) and independent clinic sessions during the work week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and manage new and established patients with acute and chronic pain conditions
  • Perform comprehensive histories, physical exams, and develop treatment plans
  • Conduct medication management, including opioid and non-opioid therapies
  • Order and interpret diagnostic imaging and laboratory testing
  • Provide pre- and post-procedural care and documentation (procedure performance not expected)
  • Participate in longitudinal care coordination and patient education
  • Document all encounters accurately in the electronic medical record

Practice Model

  • Fully outpatient, clinic-based role (no inpatient responsibilities)

  • Structured onboarding/training period with pain physicians

  • Hybrid schedule:

  • Some clinic days working directly with supervising physicians

  • Some clinic days managing patients independently within scope

  • Focus on chronic pain management, medication optimization, and care continuity

Qualifications

  • Licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (or eligible for licensure in Texas)
  • Strong clinical skills in history-taking, assessment, and care planning
  • Interest in pain medicine and longitudinal patient care
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-based setting
  • Prior pain management experience preferred but not required
