About this role:

As an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) in General Surgery, you will work with a team of healthcare professionals committed to providing quality care and an excellent patient experience. In this role, you will support three general trauma surgeons, providing a mix of clinic-based care, hospital rounding, and consult services, with opportunities to participate in the operating room depending on your experience (typically one day per week). Youll play an important role in managing post-operative and follow-up patients while working both independently and collaboratively within a dynamic surgical environment.

  • Youll practice at Platte Valley Hospital in Brighton.
  • Youll work Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with no weekend or call responsibilities at this time.
  • Youll practice at the top of your scope with a high level of autonomy while collaborating closely with multiple surgeons.
  • This position includes a sign-on bonus and relocation assistance (if applicable)

What youll bring:

  • APRN or PA-C degree from an accredited program
  • AANP, ANCC or AAPA certification
  • Active, unobstructed Colorado license, or the ability to obtain one
  • BLS and DEA
  • Ability to successfully complete Intermountain Healths credentialing process
  • At least 1 year of experience in a surgical or specialty setting
  • Ability to work in both inpatient and outpatient settings

Preferred skills

  • Operating room experience
  • Background in surgical specialties or exposure to surgical patient care
  • Experience with rounding and consults

Platte Valley Hospital is part of Intermountain Health, a nonprofit healthcare organization that focuses on helping people live their healthiest lives. They formed auxiliary teams, rallied troops, and went door to door until they raised $500,000 to open Brighton Community Hospital (BCH) in 1960. BCH became the first private general medical-surgical hospital in Adams and Southern Weld Counties and Colorados first two-stage hospital-nursing home medical unit licensed under one roof. In 1980, BCH became Platte Valley Hospital.
