Position Details:

  • Schedule: Mon-Fri, 7am-4pm
  • No Call! Limited Saturday Rotation (1 every 4-5 weeks)
  • Dual Role: Preoperative evaluations for surgery & Inpatient Post Op Care (Seperate weeks)
  • Surgical Evaluation Center team members can work remotely after 2 years of working in dept.
  • Preffered: Inpatient surgical, pre-anesthesia, OR, Hospitalist experience/background

Overview

Missouri Baptist Medical Center, an acute care hospital in St. Louis County, offers a full continuum of medical and surgical services, including heart care, cancer, women and infants, breast health, gastrointestinal, orthopedic, stroke, therapy, wound and pain management services. The hospital has a 24-hour adult emergency department and cares for pediatric patients at a separate emergency department in collaboration with St. Louis Children's Hospital.

Missouri Baptist is the first and only hospital in St. Louis County to be named a Magnet hospital by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). The prestigious designation is the highest credential a health care organization can receive for nursing excellence and quality patient care. This recognition has been accomplished by less than nine percent of hospitals nationwide. Additionally, U.S. News & World Report ranked the hospital #2 in the St. Louis metro area.

The Outpatient Services department is responsible for the scheduling and registration of patients receiving outpatient treatment or diagnostics at Missouri Baptist Medical Center.

Role Purpose

Utilizes a high degree of knowledge, skill and competence in a specialized area to coordinate, manage and evaluate the delivery of quality patient care. Serves as a role model, mentor, and preceptor for others. Enters into a formal collaborative practice agreement with physician(s) to support a designated clinical service.

Responsibilities

Manages the health care of select patient populations through advanced health assessment, diagnosis, intervention, and evaluation.Coordinates the care of select patient populations to ensure promotion of health and wellness through education of patients and families, coordination of services and placing referrals.Assesses development needs of staff and develops and delivers appropriate educational programs to meet staff needs.Develops treatment plans, treats patients with acute problems including illnesses and minor injuries following a predetermined protocol.
