Position Details:

Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8am-4:30pm No Weekends! Rotating call every sixth week

Responsibilities: • Manage new, established and post-op patients with complex cardiac and Vascular conditions • Preferred: Acute care or critical care background with clinical experience, cardiac care experience • Great opportunity for Work Life Balance!

Overview

Missouri Baptist Medical Center, an acute care hospital in St. Louis County, offers a full continuum of medical and surgical services, including heart care, cancer, women and infants, breast health, gastrointestinal, orthopedic, stroke, therapy, wound and pain management services. The hospital has a 24-hour adult emergency department and cares for pediatric patients at a separate emergency department in collaboration with St. Louis Children's Hospital.

The CTV Surgery team provides daily patient management for CT Surgery inpatients and outpatients in collaboration with CT Surgeons to ensure timely and appropriate discharge planning and patient teaching.

Preferred Qualifications

Role Purpose

The Nurse Practitioner is an advanced practice nurse who utilizes a high degree of knowledge, skill and competence in a specialized patient care area. This position assesses, diagnoses, prescribes, initiates plan of care and evaluates outcomes within the scope of a formal collaborative practice agreement with physician(s).

Responsibilities:

• Participates in professional development • Manages the health care of patient populations with compassion through advanced health assessment, diagnosis, intervention, and evaluation in a collaborative practice agreement with a physician • Prescriptive responsibilities are reviewed by collaborative physician • Coordinates the care of patient populations, in a collaborative practice agreement with a physician, to ensure promotion of health and wellness through education of patients and families, coordination of services and placing referrals • Assesses development needs of staff and develops and delivers appropriate educational programs to meet staff needs • Develops treatment plans, treats patients with acute problems including illnesses and minor injuries following a predetermined protocol in a collaborative practice agreement with a physician

Minimum Requirements

Education Master's Degree - Nursing (Accredited NP Program)

Experience <2 years Supervisor Experience No Experience

Licenses & Certifications Nurse Practitioner RN

Preferred Requirements Education Doctorate - Nursing Experience 2-5 years
