ProMedica Physicians Group (PPG) is seeking to add a full time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our ProMedica Physicians Benign Hematology team.
Provide comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and management of patients with benign hematologic disorders, including but not limited to: Anemia (iron deficiency, chronic disease, hemolytic), Coagulation disorders (bleeding/clotting disorders), Thrombocytopenia and thrombocytosis, and Ordering blood/blood products when needed
Conduct detailed history and physical assessments, interpret diagnostic studies, and formulate evidence-based treatment plans.
Perform and/or assist with procedures within scope (e.g., bone marrow biopsies, therapeutic phlebotomy, infusion-related care).
Collaborate closely with hematologists and interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality, coordinated care. Lead and support Patient Blood Management (PBM) initiatives, including: Optimization of hemoglobin and iron stores prior to procedures, Minimization of unnecessary transfusions, and Implementation of evidence-based transfusion thresholds
Provide specialized management for patients who decline blood products (e.g., bloodless care pathways): Develop individualized care plans aligned with patient values and clinical safety, Understanding/respecting patient wishes to not receive blood products when identified, and Coordinate alternatives to transfusion (e.g., iron therapy, erythropoiesis-stimulating agents)
Serve as a clinical resource and educator to medical staff on PBM and blood conservation strategies.
Participate in program development, outcomes monitoring, and quality improvement related to blood utilization.
Provide clear, compassionate education regarding: Diagnosis and disease management, Treatment options, risks, and alternatives, Blood conservation strategies and bloodless care options

Requirements:
Master of Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing (DNP) degree for Nurse Practitioner applicants.
Master’s degree for Physician Assistant applicants.
Valid and unrestricted medical license to practice in the state(s) where care is provided.
Certificate of Authority to practice.
Current American Heart Association (AHA) certification(s) applicable to your role (e.g., BLS, ACLS, PALS, etc.).
Commitment to ongoing continuing medical education (CME) and professional development.
