Hiring Range: $129,376.00 to $176,800.00

Summary of Job Responsibilities:

The Southcentral Foundation (SCF) is actively seeking nurse practitioners to become an integral part of a growing continuum of behavioral health care services This posting is for a new program, Crisis Stabilization, a short term, high intensity program that accepts walk ins and first responder drop offs. Responsibilities include participation as a member of a multidisciplinary integrated care team, medical and psychiatric evaluation and management, supporting and following legal requirements, de-escalation and crisis intervention, engagement in milieu, and care coordination.

All employees for this position within the Crisis Stabilization program will be expected to successfully complete Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Nonviolent Crisis Intervention with Advanced Physical Skills training upon hire. 

Qualifications:

SCF programs are established to serve a primary population comprised of Alaska Native people who are affiliated with Cook Inlet Region, Inc. (CIRI) and Alaska Native and American Indian people within SCF’s geographical service area. Employees should have a thorough understanding of the cultures and the needs of this population. Such knowledge is critical to ensure the achievement of SCF’s vision of a Native Community that enjoys physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual wellness, and mission of working together with the Native Community to achieve wellness through health and related services:

  1. Licensed as a Nurse Practitioner in the State of Alaska.
  2. Current certification as a NP through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
  3. Meets all requirements in order to obtain associate medical staff membership and required privileges of service.
  4. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. ACLS, NRP, ATLS, ALSO and PALS as required for specialty and any certification relating to the scope of practice as required.

Additional Qualifications

Crisis Stabilization: Certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).
AND one (1) year of experience as a PMHNP providing psychiatric care.
AND one (1) year of experience as a nurse practitioner providing medical care to adults.
AND must be eligible for schedule II through V DEA registration

Preferred, but not required:

Experience in primary care, emergency/crisis psychiatry, peripartum care, geriatrics, substance use disorder and/or withdrawal management. 

Native Preference: 

Under P.L. 93-638, as amended, the company pursues a policy of Native preference in hiring, contracting and training.  SCF Human Resources must receive certification before applicants receive preference.
