Our client is seeking a Director of Quality Assurance to establish and lead a comprehensive nuclear quality assurance program supporting engineering, procurement, supplier oversight, manufacturing readiness, and future fuel production activities. This individual will play a critical leadership role in developing the quality infrastructure necessary to support long-term commercialization and regulatory success.

The company is currently transitioning from research and engineering development into commercialization and is seeking experienced leaders to help build the systems, processes, and organizational capabilities necessary for long-term growth.

Description

Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain the organization's nuclear quality assurance program, policies, procedures, and governance structure.
  • Develop and implement quality systems aligned with NRC requirements, ASME NQA-1 standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Lead quality initiatives supporting engineering design control, software quality assurance, document control, configuration management, and records management.
  • Establish supplier quality, procurement quality, audit, surveillance, and supplier qualification programs.
  • Develop corrective action, nonconformance, root cause investigation, and continuous improvement processes.
  • Build the quality framework required to support future manufacturing and regulated production operations.
  • Serve as the primary interface for quality-related customer, regulatory, and third-party audit activities.
  • Recruit, develop, and lead the Quality organization as the business scales.

Profile

Ideal Candidate:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related technical discipline.
  • 12+ years of Quality Assurance experience within nuclear, aerospace, defense, advanced energy, or another highly regulated industry.
  • Proven experience developing, implementing, or managing formal quality assurance programs.
  • Strong working knowledge of nuclear quality requirements including 10 CFR Part 50 Appendix B, ASME NQA-1, or equivalent regulated quality systems.
  • Experience with supplier quality, procurement quality, audits, corrective action, document control, and quality records management.
  • Demonstrated success building quality systems, processes, and organizations within a growing technical environment.
  • Direct experience supporting NRC-regulated facilities, nuclear manufacturing, fuel production, or advanced reactor technologies is highly preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
