Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women and Babies, part of the Orlando Health Women’s Institute, has provided care dedicated to the unique needs of women and newborns since opening on the downtown Orlando campus in 2006. A highly skilled team provides specialized care that covers all facets of women’s health from comprehensive gynecological services and complex minimally invasive surgeries to general obstetrics and high-risk pregnancies, births and newborn care. The Orlando Health Winnie Palmer nursing team has held Magnet® recognition for nursing excellence and quality patient care from the American Nurses Credentialing Center since 2013, and the hospital has earned Advanced Certification in Perinatal Care from The Joint Commission, the first in Florida to receive this designation.
Orlando Health Winnie Palmer is one of the largest-volume and most experienced obstetrical centers in the U.S., with nearly 14,000 deliveries every year. The hospital’s 350 beds include 142 neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) beds, making it one of the largest NICUs in the country. The hospital also is the first in Florida to receive Advanced Certification in Perinatal Care from The Joint Commission and is a Regional Perinatal Intensive Care Center for the state of Florida, whereby high-risk obstetrical patients and their infants are referred to our specialists.
Orlando Health Winnie Palmer also has been named a Top Teaching Hospital by The Leapfrog Group.
