The City of Davis Playfields Sports Park is located in South Davis, and houses 2 softball fields, 1 baseball field, a sand volleyball court, a full-sized turf soccer field, batting cages, and a playground structure. Internal and user-group programs operate out of Playfields Sports Park, alongside public field rentals.
The City's Adult Softball leagues run 3 times a year (Spring, Summer, and Fall) and has Co-ed, casual and competitive competition. League games are Tuesday - Thursday, from 6:15pm - 10:15pm. All games are played at Playfields Sports Park.
Status: Temporary part time (no benefits, paid for all hours worked)
Minimum Age Requirement: Applicants must be at least 18 years of age or have education equivalent to completion of high school.
Hours:
During adult softball season: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday afternoons and nights from 5:30pm - 10:30pm. Approximately 10 - 12 hours a week.
Outside adult softball season: As needed and available. Approximately 5 hours a week.
Additional weeknight and weekend hours may be available as needed to support batting cage staff, field rentals, and user-groups using Playfields Sports Park.
Wages: $20.48/hour

Staff should be prepared to work outdoors, in various environmental conditions each week. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. This is an active position requiring the ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, stand, walk and occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 50 lbs.; verbal and hearing skills to effectively communicate with the public and City staff; visual acuity to oversee projects, and make observations. Work is done both indoors and out, with exposure to heat, often over 100 degrees, sun, noise, dust, pollens and slip hazards when near water. Potential for exposure to blood borne pathogens when rendering first aid.
