The mission of Culver City Adult School is to be an educational resource to the community, providing classes and programs that afford our students opportunities to become lifelong learners and to participate actively in their community. The Culver City Adult School offers a broad range of classes designed to fit the needs of the surrounding community, is WASC accredited, and is a member of the California Adult Schools Network.

Requirements / Qualifications

ASSIGNMENT: Part-time Adult School GED Spanish teacher 14hrs/week ( Mon - Thurs 8:30 am - 11:30 am with 30min daily prep time) for the 2026/2027 school year.

QUALIFICATIONS

• A valid teaching California credential authorizing teaching Adult Basic Education at the adult school level.
• Bilingual authorization for Spanish (BCLAD/ BASP)
• Ability to build and maintain a learning environment designed to motivate and retain students
• Experience in classroom management/instructional methodology
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of high school and adult school diploma requirements
• Ability to maintain accurate records and use of computers as instructional technology in the classroom

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

All employment offers are conditional, based upon the successful completion of the following: Fingerprint/background clearance and a tuberculosis clearance. A physical examination clearance is required for certain positions for the district. All candidates with a record of convictions must indicate such in the confidential/legal section of the application, which is attached to the job application. A record of conviction will not automatically disqualify an applicant from employment, but a failure to list all convictions may result in disqualification or dismissal.

• Copy of Transcript (Unofficial can be attached to the application but should you be selected sealed official transcripts will be required.)
• Credential Copy (California Credetial Authorizing teaching Adult Basic Education at the adult school level )
• Letter of Introduction
• Letter(s) of Recommendation (2 letters preferably written within the last two years)
