The Department of Corrections, Division of Institutions,
- Adult Probation Officers are responsible for supervising a caseload of adult felony offenders who are under the jurisdiction of the Superior court or District Courts of Alaska and have been remanded to the custody and care of the Department of Corrections.
- Maintain case files (requires case management skills), including entry to the Alaska Corrections Offender Management System (ACOMS). This includes preparing / updating an offender management plan (OMP) for each offender.
- Complete annual classification paperwork, conduct classification hearings, and complete furlough (half-way house) paperwork for prisoners who are eligible and appropriate for housing in Community Residential Centers.
- Prepare discretionary and mandatory parole packets for the Alaska Board of Parole and prepare prisoners for release into the community, to include ensuring prisoners have complied with DNA requirements, Sex Offender Registration with the Department of Public Safety and Victim Notification.

The working environment you can expect:
Spring Creek Correctional Center is a maximum-security state operated adult correctional institution. The institution has a capacity of over 500 male inmates and employs approximately 200 staff. While much of Spring Creek's inmate population serve long term sentences, we also house prisoners serving shorter sentences.
