The Part-Time Adult Basic Education/High School Equivalency Instructor supports adult learners in preparing for the HiSET exam by designing and delivering engaging lessons in subjects like math, reading, writing, science, and social studies.
Responsibilities include planning lessons, fostering critical thinking, providing individualized instruction, utilizing technology, maintaining documentation, and communicating with program staff. Courses may be offered in face-to-face, hybrid, or online formats at various locations and times.
Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field, teaching experience in diverse settings, and experience with multilevel classes. Preferred qualifications include a Master’s Degree, bilingual skills, and experience working with diverse populations.
Position is non-benefited, pays $40/hour plus prep, PD, and meeting hours, and is open on an as-needed basis through an open pool for the academic year. Candidates must pass background checks and submit application materials online. The pool remains valid until June 30, 2026.
