The mission of the Undergraduate Admissions Office is to meet the established University enrollment goals by recruiting undergraduate applicants. Our goal is to recruit applicants who can contribute to and benefit from the University in academic programs and activities; assist prospects and applicants in realizing their academic ambitions through counseling; accurately and efficiently review academic credentials and notify applicants of decisions; and provide the University community with data necessary for advising and enrollment planning.
Our mission statement is "to provide quality service, promote quality service, promote educational opportunities, and facilitate enrollment at the university".
We value our position as the first contact a prospective student or the general public may have with the University. Providing timely and accurate information and effectively monitoring the admissions process are critical to the successful recruitment of qualified students. Functionally, the office staff works closely with the faculty and support units on campus and with high school counselors, parents, and community college counselors off-campus.
Primary Purpose of Position
This position is responsible for the recruitment, counseling, and evaluation of prospective transfer students. Serving as a primary representative for UNC Charlotte, the employee facilitates the transition from varied educational backgrounds, including community colleges and four-year institutions, to the university by building strategic relationships with students, their families, and partner institution advisors. The role focuses on helping applicants determine institutional fit, navigate the complexities of credit articulation, and foster a sense of belonging within the university community through targeted outreach and specialized transition support.
The employee manages the full enrollment cycle, from initial recruitment and regional event participation to the final admissions decision. This includes providing expert guidance on academic programs, transfer policies, and university resources to ensure students are well-informed throughout their unique trajectory. Additionally, the employee exercises independent authority to conduct comprehensive application reviews and render admissions decisions for both transfer and freshman populations to build an academically prepared and robust incoming class.
