This position is located in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex.
 
Auburn University’s Office of Undergraduate Admissions is now hiring for an Admissions Advisor to serve the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. This position is ideal for individuals passionate about supporting and guiding prospective high school students, their families, K–12 stakeholders, and Auburn alumni located throughout the DFW area and additional assigned Texas counties.

As a regional Admissions Advisor, you will travel extensively within the area to represent Auburn at high school visits, recruitment events, and community outreach activities. Occasional travel to Auburn University’s campus is necessary for official events, onboarding, and training. Candidates must be prepared for some evening and weekend commitments.

Qualified applicants should demonstrate a strong ability and motivation to excel. Excellent communication skills, self-direction, effective time management, and proficiency with virtual engagement tools are critical for success in this role.

Responsibilities:
  • Recruits and enrolls prospective students by advising the students and parents over the phone, online, or in person to provide information about Auburn's admissions process, scholarship opportunities, academic programs and educational and extra-curricular opportunities
  • Recruits and enrolls prospective students by attending college fair programs, visiting high schools, participating in campus recruitment activities, and/or other recruitment activities. Presents admissions information sessions, assists with calls and email communication, walk-in appointments, and hosts off-campus student meetings.
  • Collaborates with others within the University by attending training opportunities throughout the year in order to ensure up-to-date information is provided to potential students.
  • Coordinates recruitment activities and programs and may coordinate/give campus tours.
  • Participates in the admissions process of students to include, but not limited to, reviewing applications and recommending students for admission.
  • Provides accurate and timely recruitment, expense, and purchasing reports.
  • Supports, assists, and implements on-campus and off-campus events to include, but are not limited to, prospective student programs, accepted student programs, and counselor programs.
  • Assists with achieving individual and overall University goals identified in the strategic plan.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Level II:

  • Bachelor’s degree- No specific discipline
  • 2 years of experience in public relations, marketing, recruiting, advising, and/or counseling.
  • Valid driver's license required
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Advanced knowledge of admissions, concepts, practices, or procedures with the ability to interpret and apply policies independently across diverse and complex recruitment scenarios.
  • Strong understanding of student recruitment strategies, market dynamics, and enrollment management principles, particularly for out‑of‑state and high‑growth territories.
  • Knowledge of specialized academic programs, scholarship pathways, and regional differences that influence student decision‑making.
  • Highly developed communication skills for delivering polished presentations, managing complex inquiries, and engaging with diverse audiences including counselors, CBOs, and regional organizations.
  • Strong relationship-building and networking skills, with the ability to maintain strategic partnerships across multiple states and regional associations.
  • Skill in independently planning complex, multi-day travel; prioritizing competing recruitment demands; and managing workflows while meeting elevated application-review expectations.
  • Proficient in CRM systems, data analysis, and digital communication tools, with the ability to generate territory-specific insights.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in reviewing moderately complex applications requiring holistic assessment and policy interpretation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, accept guidance from senior advisors, and participate actively in training and professional development.
  • Ability to travel in-state and out-of-state, work occasional evenings and weekends, and represent the university with professionalism and enthusiasm
