Position Summary

The Administrator is accountable for the management, control and operation of the nursing home campus and sets the tone to ensure a home-like atmosphere. The Administrator operates the nursing home in a manner that is an effective and efficient use of its resources to realize the ultimate goal of attaining and maintaining the highest practicable physical, mental and psychosocial well-being of each resident. The responsibilities of the Administrator include ensuring quality resident care through compliance with all federal, state and local laws as well as retaining highly trained, happy and motivated staff. Administrators are charged with creating, demonstrating and setting expectations for a culture of collaboration, compassion, and customer service that will strongly encourage staff to self-report areas of improvement and ensure residents' rights are protected.

Responsibilities

Resident-Centered Care & Quality of Life

Ensure comprehensive admissions, individualized care plans, resident rights protection, clear communication with residents and families, and services that support independence, safety, nutrition, recreation, and overall well-being.

Staff Leadership, Training & Culture

Build a competent, satisfied workforce through effective recruitment, training, performance management, open communication, accountability, and a culture that promotes professionalism, safety, wellness, and customer service.

Financial Oversight & Fiscal Accountability

Maintain financial health through accurate budgeting, billing and collections oversight, payroll and overtime monitoring, purchasing controls, compliance with financial policies, and coordination with corporate finance.

Safe, Compliant & Well-Maintained Environment

Ensure the facility meets all federal, state, and local requirements for safety, sanitation, infection control, emergency preparedness, equipment maintenance, HIPAA-compliant technology, and a secure, home-like setting.

Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management

Maintain continuous survey readiness, enforce ethical practices, follow abuse and vulnerable adult reporting policies, oversee quality assurance systems, and ensure adherence to HIPAA and all applicable regulations.

Executive Management & Organizational Leadership

Champion the organization's mission and values, collaborate with corporate leadership, lead department directors, monitor resident and family satisfaction, support strategic initiatives, and provide visible, responsive leadership-including evenings or weekends as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration or related field Current Minnesota Nursing Home Administration license If Administrator Designee, then ability to obtain above in a timely manner and permission from the Regional Director of Operations and/or VP Operations 2+ years of experience in long term care Experience in both skilled nursing and assisted living facilities
