Pay Range: USD $33,150.00 - USD $49,890.00 /Yr. Overview:

*This position is located in Madison, Alabama*

 

The individual in this position serves as the primary assistant to the Regional Director, Associate Directors, and other professional staff at the Tennessee Valley and Sand Mountain Research and Extension Centers.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Perform general office clerical and administrative duties such as, answer phone, fax/scan documents, type correspondence, sort/distribute mail, and maintain office supplies.
  • Serve as initial receptionist for callers and visitors.
  • Assist with financial processes such as vendor vouchers, collection reports, and reimbursements for travel.
  • Assist with timekeeping, payroll, and other HR related tasks.
  • Prepare a variety of reports, documents, and spreadsheets as requested and required.
  • Assist with basic farm research duties as needed; and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Level I:

  • High school diploma or equivalent plus 2 years of experience in clerical and administrative support services.

Level II:

  • High school diploma plus 4 years of experience in clerical and administrative support services. 

 

A valid Alabama driver's license is required.


SUBSTITUTIONS ALLOWED FOR EXPERIENCE: Yes, When a candidate has the required education, but lacks the required experience, they may normally apply additional appropriate education toward the experience requirement, at a rate of one (1) year relevant education per year of required experience.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of office rules, procedures and operations that require previous training and experience to perform.
  • Proficiency with computers and software programs including Windows, Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and other similar programs is essential.
