The City of Torrance is recruiting for an Administrative Services Manager to be part of the Torrance Police Department Team!

The Department
The Torrance Police Department has been proudly serving the community of Torrance for over 100 years. The Division
The Records Division is a Service Support Unit within the Services Bureau. Records operates on a round-the-clock basis, performing numerous tasks aiding our department, other law enforcement agencies, and the general public to gain access to necessary records. Part of our responsibilities includes interpreting federal and state laws, as well as departmental policy in determining the release and retrieval of confidential criminal information.
The Position
The Administrative Services Manager reports to the Police Services Administrator, and oversees the operations of the Torrance Police Department’s Records Division. This position supervises professional and administrative staff, ensures compliance with state and federal records laws, and leads operational and process improvement initiatives supporting the Department’s mission.
The Ideal Candidate
The City is seeking a highly qualified professional to oversee the operations of the Torrance Police Department’s Records Division. This position requires advanced knowledge of law enforcement records management practices, as well as a comprehensive understanding of policies, procedures, and legal requirements governing police records.
The successful candidate will demonstrate proven leadership in developing and maintaining a high-performing workforce. This role requires an individual who thrives in a collaborative, team-oriented environment that values professionalism, accountability, cooperation, and effective communication. The ideal candidate will possess strong written and verbal communication skills and demonstrate the ability to interpret, apply, and clearly explain departmental policies, procedures, and legal requirements to staff, leadership, and external stakeholders. Experience interpreting and applying public records laws, criminal justice information regulations, and law enforcement records management practices is highly desirable.
The selected candidate must exercise sound judgment, maintain strict confidentiality, and demonstrate a commitment to operational excellence, organizational integrity, and public service.

Monthly Salary Information
$10,789 (Minimum) - $14,300 (Reference) - $16,444 (Maximum) per month + Benefits
Appointments are typically made between the minimum and reference point depending on qualifications.
