A 600+ bed acute care hospital in Plano is seeking an Administrative Director of Women’s and Children’s Services. This major regional facility was the first Level I Trauma Center in Collin County and is recognized for its advanced maternal and neonatal programs, including a Level III NICU, a high-risk antepartum unit, and designation as the first Comprehensive Stroke Center in the region by the Texas Department of State Health Services.

This senior leadership role provides operational and strategic oversight for Labor and Delivery (21 beds), Postpartum/couplet care (34 beds), and the NICU (41 beds), along with Maternal Level IV and NICU Level IV designation teams. The role encompasses a combined leadership structure of approximately 175 full-time equivalents across three direct managers.

The Administrative Director is responsible for guiding the overall direction of Women’s and Children’s Services, ensuring safe, high-quality, and consistent care across all units. Responsibilities include coordinating departmental operations across the organization, developing and maintaining clinical policies and procedures, and continuously evaluating and improving service line performance.

This position plays a key role in workforce development, including ensuring adequate staffing, verifying clinical competencies, supporting orientation and ongoing education, and fostering a strong culture of professional practice. With approximately 2,800 annual deliveries, the director also supports service line expansion through outreach, collaboration, and business development initiatives while actively participating in performance improvement efforts and interdisciplinary committees.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required

  • Master’s degree in Nursing or related field (or other appropriate postgraduate degree) required

  • Active Texas RN license or compact state RN license accepted

  • National specialty certification required

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA required

  • Minimum of 10 years of recent Women’s and Children’s nursing experience (Labor & Delivery, NICU, PICU, Pediatrics, or related areas)

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience required
