A 600+ bed acute care hospital in Plano, TX is seeking an Administrative Director of Women's and Children's Services. The hospital operates a Level 3 neonatal intensive care unit, a high-risk antepartum unit, and is a designated Level I Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center — offering a full continuum of women's and children's services within a large, complex acute care environment.
The role. Reporting through nursing leadership, this director oversees Labor and Delivery (21 beds), Postpartum/couplet care (34 beds), and the NICU (41 beds), along with Maternal Level 4 and NICU Level 4 designation teams — leading a total of approximately 175 FTEs across three departments, each supported by a dedicated manager. The hospital performs approximately 2,800 deliveries annually. This leader is accountable for the full operational, financial, and quality performance of these departments, translating service line strategy into programmatic initiatives that drive growth and sustain designation standards. A central focus of the role is developing the three direct-report managers, cultivating strong physician relationships, and providing oversight of designation teams to ensure ongoing adherence to all applicable standards. The director also integrates department services into the organization's broader care delivery plan, leads performance improvement activities, and participates in business development and community outreach.
