Definition of Class

  • Under direction, is responsible for highly responsible clerical and typing work of considerable difficulty or performs work on typing related equipment such as an online terminal, word processor, or typewriter. Performs other work as required.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assists County Detectives with clerical duties, including but not limited to, typing correspondence, orders
  • and other requests.
  • Make copies of CD's/DVD's per Attorney requests.
  • Performs typing duties, including but not limited to, writing and filing correspondences, logs, forms,
  • spreadsheets and subpoenas.
  • Logs and distributes incoming police reports.
  • Enters Private Complaints into PMS. Logs, mails and files Private Complaint approvals and dismissals.
  • Record Preliminary Hearing dispositions into PMS. Responsible for the upkeep (filing and destroying) of
  • open and closed Preliminary Hearing files
  • Processes files for Summary Appeal Hearings and notifies corresponding enforcement agencies Answers
  • inquiries from the public.
  • Assists other support staff members in relieving them of their duties as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Thorough knowledge of modern clerical methods.
  • Outstanding skill in performing office duties.
  • Thoroughness and accuracy.
  • Ability to compile and assemble data for reports.
  • Ability to deal successfully with the public.
  • Ability to operate online terminal or other types of complex office machinery.
  • Ability to use correct written English with clarity.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED and a minimum of 3 years of clerical experience, OR an equivalent combination of related training and experience
  • Must be able to Type a Minimum of 60 Words Per Minute with Accuracy
