Position Details

SUMMARY:

The Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent and the Board of Education is a non-bargaining unit position with specific clerical responsibilities including handling confidential business items, records, and correspondence of the Board of Education and its central administrators. As Administrative Assistant, coordinate and maintain effective office procedures. Support the superintendent in areas related to Board policy and administrative guidelines, and coordination and management of all services of the superintendents' office.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • High level of ethical behavior and professionalism.
  • Ability to utilize effective human relations and communications skills in working with people.
  • Knowledge of governmental and legal functions of school systems.
  • Ability to handle crisis situations in a calm and positive manner.
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
  • Applicants must satisfactorily pass a criminal background check as defined by the State of Michigan.
