Hartford Union High School currently looking for a motivated, friendly, highly organized individual with excellent communication skills and genuine ability to deliver exceptional customer service as a school year Administrative Assistant. This is an hourly position working from 6:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Monday-Friday. The position will work approximately 190 days based on the needs of the position. The Administrative Assistant will be the front reception at HUHS greeting visitors, students, and staff who enter the building. The position performs a wide range of administrative and office support for the district to facilitate the efficient operation of the school district.

- Coordinates driver schedules
- Oversees, coordinates and performs day to day school administrative functions.
- Utilizes effective and positive communication skills with students, staff, administration, parents, community members, and other stakeholders via various communication methods.
- Uses a variety of technology to generate spreadsheets, word processing, calendar, e-mail, Google docs, and database software in performing work assignments.
- Utilizes computerized system to access relevant reports, communications, and pertinent data.
- Receives and resolves concerns and complaints, using knowledge of school policies, procedures, rules, and requirements.
- Answers multi-line phone systems, responds to requested information, and/or refers inquiries to the appropriate person, take messages, or transfer calls.
- Coordinates and assists with events and projects for the school.
- Sole responsibility for management of AESOP program, including arranging teacher coverage for both internal and external substitutes.
- Responsible for assistance in HUHS promotion and marketing.
- Meets/greets staff, students, parents, and community members in a positive customer service manner.
- Maintains phone/room extension lists up-to-date.
- Updates and maintains information in the RAPTOR system for students, guardians, and guests.
- Manages visitor log and badges.
- Follows security protocol for all visitors and students.
- Coordinates deliveries for students and staff.
- Maintain District activities on digital boards in creative and professional ways.
- Works at various school functions outside of their normal work hours in relation to their job duties, as needed.
- Opens, sorts, and disburses incoming mail and other correspondence.
- Maintains confidentiality of various aspects of school operation including sensitive and personal information.
- Ability to handle sensitive matters and maintain confidentiality. (e.g. FERPA, HIPPA, special education, and legal documents related to student or family situations).
- Communicates with parents related to school matters.
