Under the direction of a Principal of a comprehensive traditional High School, organize, coordinate, schedule and perform office functions at a high school; serve as secretary to the Principal and coordinate communications between administrators, District and site personnel, parents, students and the general public. Relieve the Principal of routine administrative matters.
Minimum Qualifications Required to Apply
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Education: High school diploma or its equivalent. College level courses in business skills desired.
Experience: Required: Four (4) years of responsible clerical experience with public contact responsibilities; working knowledge of computers, data input and word processing desired. Preferred: Experience in a school setting.
Years of experience can be supplemented by the following degrees:
AA- 2 years of experience
BA- 4 Years of experience
MA/MS- 6 years of experience

Essential Duties
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:
Serve as secretary and relieve the Principal of routine administrative matters; prepare and mail letters and correspondence regarding student expulsions; complete expulsion packets; record and file student graduation information as required. E
Plan, organize and coordinate a wide variety of clerical and other office functions and activities related to the administration of diverse programs and operations at a high school; prioritize and schedule duties and assignments to assure efficiency and effectiveness and meet established time lines. E
Communicate with a variety of site and District personnel, administrators and parents to coordinate school operations and maintenance, resolve conflicts and issues and exchange information; maintain confidentiality of sensitive issues. E
Perform secretarial duties for the Principal, assisting with a variety of administrative matters as requested; independently compose letters and memoranda as directed; type dictation of letters, reports, meetings and memoranda. E
Type from notes, rough draft or verbal instructions a variety of written materials including correspondence, memoranda, bulletins, requisitions, records, reports, depositions and evaluations and edit as necessary; copy and file materials as required. E
Compile and organize information for the Principal; compose and respond to routine correspondence; open, sort, review and route mail. E
Schedule meetings, conferences and appointments for the Principal; maintain Principals calendar; arrange for conference rooms; arrange and schedule travel accommodations as necessary. E
Operate a variety of business and office equipment including a personal computer, printer, typewriter, copier and communications equipment. E
Maintain payroll for teachers, administration, counselors and assigned clerical and classified staff. E
Prepare and maintain accurate records related to assigned activities according to established procedures and time lines.
Attend a variety of meetings; prepare and send out notices of meetings; collect and compile information for meetings, projects and workshops.
Compile data for budgets; post and maintain budget and financial records of a variety of programs; monitor account balances and record expenditures. E
Maintain a variety of detailed personnel records, time sheets, lists, files and records, including sensitive materials such as payroll, student and employee information. E
Review or prepare a variety of materials and documents, including financial documents, invoices and inventory records; order supplies and materials and prepare purchase orders; assure adequate forms and supplies to support office operations. E
Answer telephones and greet visitors; take and relay messages; provide information to students, parents, faculty and site personnel; interpret, apply and explain District policies and school procedures and regulations. E
Perform related duties as assigned.

The District offers paid Medical, Dental, Vision up to $21,528.60 and $30,000 Life Insurance for positions that are four (4) hours or more.
