The Department of Economics and Business at Colorado School of Mines is seeking a highly organized, proactive Administrative Assistant III to serve as the operational hub of our department.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety in their workday and takes pride in creating efficient processes, supporting faculty and students, managing complex administrative functions, and helping deliver successful department programs and events. You will be a key resource for faculty, staff, students, visitors, and campus partners, ensuring the departments day-to-day operations run smoothly and effectively.

What Youll Do
Office & Operational Coordination (55%)
As the departments primary administrative professional, you will coordinate and support a wide variety of operational activities that enable faculty, staff, and students to succeed.

In addition to administrative operations, you will support a variety of departmental events throughout the academic year.

This role requires frequent movement, standing, lifting, and active engagement during events.

Proficiency with spreadsheet and word processing software (i.e. Word and Excel).
Daily interaction with students, staff and faculty require this position to possess strong interpersonal and customer service skills and the ability to establish rapport with people of diverse backgrounds.
Must have excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, make decisions independently and provide on-the-spot answers to administrative questions that arise.
Must have excellent judgment and discretion and be able to work confidentially with sensitive and protected information.

This role will provide event management for a variety of events and will be responsible for coordinating and executing those events around campus from start to finish. Please describe your event management experience, particularly in a campus or community setting if applicable.
