Job Description
The Administrative Assistant performs a variety of administrative, and clerical duties in order to ensure effective and efficient office operations. Provides assistance to department management, co-workers, and the general public as required.
Essential Functions:
- Processes notary applications.
- Prints and assembles County Council documents.
- Orders office supplies.
- Greets people at the window.
- Answers and directs incoming phone calls.
- Schedules meetings.
- Retrieves and distributes mail.
- Scans documents.
- Processes invoices for payment.
- Responsible for opening and closing the department.
- Files and pulls documents.
- Keeps abreast of news that is reported in print.
Non-Essential Functions:
- Services county vehicle for maintenance.
- Performs all other related duties as required.
Qualifications: Education and Work Experience
- Requires a vocational/technical diploma in secretarial science, administrative management or related field supplemented by three to five years of administrative experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
- Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and or like programs.
- Operates a variety of office equipment.
