Description/Job Summary
Adjunct Respiratory Care Faculty at the Baltimore City Community College (BCCC) provide high-quality instruction to students in the Respiratory Care Therapist Program through clinical, classroom, and/or lab teaching. Responsibilities include delivering evidence-based content, supporting student learning, and preparing students for professional practice. Faculty report to the Program Coordinators, submit required documentation promptly, attend department meetings, and engage in professional development. This part-time, semester-based role requires at least three years of clinical experience, RRT credentials, and state licensure; prior teaching experience is preferred.

Responsibilities/Duties
  • Teach Respiratory Care courses and assist with labs as needed. Monitor, train and evaluate the student in the clinics.
  • Responsibilities in both instruction and clinical coordination.
  • Based on Master Syllabus, design and teach assigned class session(s), leveraging digital content and multi-media resources in the classroom
  • Assess student engagement/understanding during each class session and throughout the semester.
  • Maintain and update the syllabus and course materials and make sure they are available
through the College's Learning Management System.

Required Qualifications
Education:
  • Associate's degree in respiratory care or health Related field
Experience:
  • Three (3) years of experience in Respiratory Care which must include clinical teaching experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in respiratory care or health-related field
  • Four (4) years of experience in Respiratory Care
