Position Summary

Adjunct Faculty, Communication and Media Studies

The Department of Communication and Media Studies in the College of Arts and Sciences at North Central College invites applications for adjunct faculty to join an ongoing pool of qualified instructors. Our primary need is for faculty who can teach Introduction to Public Speaking, a core first-year general education course required for all undergraduate students. Qualified candidates may have the opportunity to teach courses that serve the department's communication curriculum.

Qualified candidates will hold a master's degree in Communication. Previous college-level teaching experience is preferred. Successful candidates will demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching, student mentorship, and collaborative engagement within the department.

These are part-time, course-by-course teaching opportunities intended to establish a pool of qualified candidates for future instructional needs. Teaching assignments vary by semester based on departmental needs, funding, and enrollment, and qualified applicants may be contacted as opportunities arise.

Founded in 1861, North Central College is a nationally recognized liberal arts institution serving approximately 3,000 students.
