New River Community College is a two-year public institution of higher education operating under a state-wide system of 23 community colleges. The college is located on a one-hundred plus acre site at the intersection of U.S. Routes 11 and 100 in Dublin, Virginia with an instructional site in Christiansburg. The campus provides modern, well-equipped facilities for the career technical education programs as well as for the college transfer programs. Approximately 4,000 students comprise the student body.

Duties:

  • Plan and organize all classes taught.
  • Keep accurate records of student work and competencies.
  • Work with coordinator to identify equipment and supplies to provide hands-on experience in the classroom setting.
  • Work with coordinator to place students in practicum experiences.

Special Assignments

May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.

New River Community College has an opening for a Pharmacy Technician Program instructor. Qualified candidates with a commitment to serving a diverse student population, including adult learners and at-risk students, are invited to apply.

The successful candidate must be a pharmacist with a current unrestricted license or a pharmacy technician with at least one-year experience performing technician tasks who holds a current unrestricted registration in Virginia or a current PTCB certification.

The position falls within NRCC's Workforce Development unit which offers short-term, credential training programs.

  • Previous teaching and/or practicum mentor experience

Operation of a State Vehicle No Supervises Employees No Required Travel
