Job Objective: The Paraprofessional Training Adjunct Instructor will teach and mentor adult learners preparing to work as paraprofessionals in general and special education classrooms in K-12 educational settings, fostering professional readiness, instructional support skills, and an understanding of school-based roles within a supportive learning environment. This class is held at MNTC four to five times a year during daytime hours, with the possibility of evenings and weekends.

Qualifications:

  • Hold a current Oklahoma Teacher Certificate in Special Education
  • Have a minimum of two (2) years of experience teaching in a special education classroom
  • Complete and obtain a transcript showing eight (8) paraprofessional training modules

Special Knowledge, Skill or Ability:

  • Develop and deliver engaging paraprofessional training content aligned with approved curriculum
  • Stay up to date on federal and state guidelines related to paraprofessional work
  • Leadership and instructional capabilities, including lecture and demonstration skills
  • Strong reasoning, observation, interpretation, and evaluation skills
  • Ability to instruct, mentor, and evaluate learner effectively
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and satisfactory personal conduct
  • Ability to work collaboratively and maintain positive professional relationships
  • Dependable, reliable, and punctual in attendance
