- Teach courses as needed at the undergraduate and graduate levels, including some combination of courses in the areas of behavioral health/clinical psychology, behavioral neuroscience, cognitive psychology, human learning, human development (child and/or aging), or critical psychology/social justice.
- Teach foundational psychology courses such as introductory psychology, research methods, or statistics courses.
- Maintain a program of research.
- Supervise undergraduate and graduate student research.
- Provide academic advising for undergraduate and graduate students.
- Participate in professional service activities at the departmental, college, community and/or national level.
Occasional Duties
Perform other duties as assigned by the Department Chair.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Ability to teach courses in at least one of the following areas: behavioral health/clinical psychology, behavioral neuroscience, cognitive psychology, human learning, human development (child and/or aging), or critical psychology/social justice.
- Knowledge about the needs of diverse student learners.
- Ability to conduct research or other scholarly activities.
- Ability to supervise graduate and undergraduate research.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. degree in Psychology or related field. M.A./M.S. enrolled or not enrolled in a Ph.D. program in Psychology will be considered.
- College teaching experience and Research experience in psychology or closely related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to teach a range of foundational courses such as introductory psychology, research methods, or statistics courses.
- Ability and commitment to involving students in research and/or scholarship.
Environmental Conditions
Teaching/instruction is performed in a traditional classroom setting with opportunities for online/hybrid formats.

- UNION ELIGIBILITY: Adjuncts become eligible to join the RIC/AFT Adjunct Union if they complete 6 load hours (excludes applied music) within the two previous consecutive year (Payment is made once a month; applicable taxes are withheld.)
