JOB OPENING Position: Adjunct Instructor of Piano Proficiency Reports To: Director of Collaborative Piano Job Summary : An adjunct instructor of piano /piano proficiency is contracted by semester to provide the equivalent of 14 weeks of instruction to each student in their studio. Other duties include testing students for completion of benchmark requirements . In addition, the instructor would serve as collaborative pianist for Lyric Theater rehearsals and productions, as well as some student degree recitals as assigned by the Director of Collaborative Piano. Mileage reimbursement is available. Responsibilities and Duties : • Teach proficiency lessons • Assist with the accompan ying/collaborative performance needs of the department (Lyric Theater and degree recitals as assigned) Educational /Experience Requirements : • Master of Music or equivalent performance experience required. Anticipated Rate of Pay: • Pay rate varies based on degree level and experience. • Music lessons: $45 -65 per hour • Non -teaching load: $1,105 - $1,266 per credit hour Other Requirements: • Demonstrate respect for the principles that guide Houghton as a Christian university in the Wesleyan tradition and a willingness to respect the doctrine and positions of The Wesleyan Church in carrying out your duties. • Be a team player with a heart to serve Houghton University and its students.
