Position Announcement

Looking for adjunct faculty members to teach and supervise nursing students for 12-hour shifts at local hospitals. Currently available shifts include Monday night shifts and Tuesday day shifts.

Utah Valley University is seeking a qualified adjunct instructor to join our dynamic Nursing program beginning the Fall semester. The successful candidate must hold a master's degree in nursing or a closely related field and possess a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and clinical education. This position provides hands-on instruction and mentorship to nursing students in clinical or lab settings. Prior teaching or clinical experience is preferred. Summary of Responsibilities

• Responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in classroom, laboratory, and clinical settings while promoting student learning and professional development.
• Develops and implements approved nursing curricula, prepares instructional materials, evaluates student performance, and provides guidance and support to help students achieve academic and clinical success.
• Maintains accurate records, ensures compliance with program and accreditation standards, and fosters a safe, engaging, and effective learning environment.
• Supports program objectives, supervises students in clinical and simulation experiences, maintains appropriate classroom and laboratory conditions, and contributes to the overall success of the Nursing Program.
• Additional responsibilities may be assigned to support departmental and university needs.

Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications

Graduation from an accredited program with a master's degree in nursing or a closely related field.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

Knowledge

• Thorough knowledge of nursing principles, practices, procedures, and the subject matter for courses and clinical experiences assigned.
• Knowledge of instructional strategies, adult learning principles, and evidence-based teaching techniques applicable to classroom, laboratory, simulation, and clinical settings.
• Knowledge of student advising, mentoring, and counseling techniques that support academic achievement and professional development.
• Knowledge of current trends, best practices, technologies, and regulatory requirements in nursing education and healthcare delivery.

Skills

• Skill in public speaking, presentation, and written communication, including the preparation of instructional materials, evaluations, and reports.
• Skill in student engagement, motivation, assessment, and performance evaluation in both academic and clinical environments.
• Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
